Band Director, Stacey Jones
Ms Jones joined the Davidsen Music Program as Band Director of both Concert and Jazz ensembles in 2018. She leads her classes from 6th to 8th grade with an enthusiastic faith in her students' abilities to learn and perform through fun exploration and practice.
Ms. Jones graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from The University of South Florida. At USF, Ms. Jones was a member and of the Herd of Thunder Marching Band, Jazz Band, and Rumble Pep Band. She also served as a principal performer in the USF Symphonic and Wind Ensembles.
Ms. Jones is also a freelance trumpet player and private teacher. She has performed with the Florida Wind Band, and maintains a modest studio of private trumpet students ages middle through high school.
Ms. Jones believes that music education is essential, and is a fierce advocate for The Arts in our schools.

WELCOME TO BAND!
Whether you have already started learning an instrument or you are just curious, playing in the school band is one of the best ways to expand your horizons by joining forces with other musicians. Tune into the beautiful language of music as a member of Davidsen Band and enjoy playing music every day in school!
6th Grade Students learn basic music reading and techniques, performing on a band instrument, and being a part of a large ensemble.
7th Grade Players expand on their knowledge and begin to perform more complex band pieces.
8th Grade Players will be performing higher grade music as a means to grow as musicians and prepare for high school band. They will be competing in district competitions.
Jazz Ensemble Advanced players may join the jazz ensemble in 8th grade where we will perform in extra special events.
What styles of music do students play? Students learn a wide range of music from different eras and styles. We play everything from Pop music to Folk songs along with more traditional marching band music.
Performances All grades perform in a Winter and Spring concert (6th grade spring only) The 8th grade and Jazz Bands perform at MPA in the spring. All band students will have the opportunity to audition for Hillsborough All-County and Florida All-State Bands as well as participate in FBA solo and ensemble. Jazz Band also performs for various community and seasonal events (Santa Parade, Veterans Day, Northwest Jazz Festival) In addition, band members enjoy the Spring Music Department field trip each year. Students who take band learn so much more than music. They learn great time management skills, teamwork, and leadership. By the time you leave the Davidsen Band Program you will have a family of fellow band members to go with you into high school and memories that will last a lifetime.
